Charity Committee

In 2009 the Charity Committee of the Macaé International Women´s Club has visited all the projects that are supported by the MIWC.

The committee reviewed the projects and made an inventory on their needs. The outcome will be presented on our next meeting.

They initiated a blanket drive and collected 50 blankets they distributed to Grupo Expirta João Batista and Macaé ParaOlympica. Both organizations were expremely grateful (see photo). Because the blanket drive was such a success, we would like to continue with a food drive (non-perishable items). Following this paragraph is a list of food items we would like to collect and donate to some of the organizations MIWC has been helping for years. If everyone could bring at least one of these items to each monthly meeting, we will distribute them to the organizations after we have collected sufficient quantities. We think this will be a great way to continue helping our community and it will also be easy because you can just grab something when you do your routine shopping!
